SSC Protest background:

SSC or staff selection commission conducts CGL(Combined graduate level) exam every year for recruiting graduates for various Group-B and Group-C posts in the central government of India.  CGL is one of the very popular exams in India as over 30 Lakh students apply for the exam to be conducted in three stages.
Tier-1
Tier-2
Tier-3

The tier-2 exam of the SSC CGL 2017 was conducted after much delay from 17th Feb 2018 to 22nd Feb 2018 in various shifts. Over 1.5 Lakh students have given the tier-2 exam from 17-22 Feb 2018.

This year's tier-2 exam was in controversy from the beginning because of the normalization case against SSC in supreme court. Finally almost after postponing the tier-2 for 3 times, SSC has released the admit cards for tier-2 and conducted the exam.

There were many controversies surrounding the tier-2 exam, important one being the alleged question paper leak and cheating done in exam centers at a very high level. Pictures of people cheating were circulating in the social media and all the aspirants are getting ready to protest against SSC on 27th Feb against the inefficiency and shortcomings of SSC in conducting the exam.

These are the major demands of aspirants from SSC chairman IAS Shri Khurana:
  • Cancellation of  SSC CGL 2017 Tier-2 altogether and conduct a fresh exam for candidates of all shifts
  • Punish the exam centers responsible for this leak
  • Order a CBI inquiry into this
  • Alternate ways to conduct Tier-2(Offline exam etc.) to ensure these leaks doesn't happen
  • Include a reserve list while publishing the results
SSC is trying to bypass the issue by siting that some technical glitches have occurred while conducting the exam on 21st Feb and they'll conduct a re-exam only for that shift. Full details regarding this can be found here: SSC Tier-2 2017 re-exam

Also, Bihar SSC chairman was arrested by a special investigation team on account of a recruitment scam. It shows how deeply the corruption is rooted in SSC.

Even many renowned SSC teachers like Rakesh Yadav, Abhinay and notable reporter Ravish from NDTV have shown their support to this cause and are attending the SSC CGL Tier 2 Protest on 27th Feb at CGO Complex Delhi. It is requested from the students that they attend in huge numbers and make this protest a succesful one. Only deserved candidates should get the jobs, not the ones who've cheated their way all through the exam.
